Bread and such
Breads so far have been the scariest of the gluten-free world for me. When I pick up a loaf of bread, I don't want it to feel like a pile of bricks. Aren't breads suppose to be light and fluffy. I'm still exploing but here are bread items I have tried.

Rudi's Multigrain Bread
Pro: Love this bread! It's as close as it gets to real bread.

Whole Foods GF Hamburger Buns Review
Pro: These were surprisingly the most "real" like of the breads I have tried so far. They have a tapioca and rice base. The texture was slightly thicker then a bun, more like a heavier dinner roll. But it tasted great with my homemade BBQ.
Con: These buns come with two hefty price tags. First being the $8.29 for 6 buns from WF. Second is the 330 calories, 10g fat, and 6g sugar per bun. (A normal gluten filled bun has 120 calories, 2g fat, and 2g sugar). I definitely liked these buns but for the price and the calories I will save them for cookouts and special occasions.

Glutino English Muffin Review
Pro: These are light weight and very moist [for GF bread], probably because they are corn base.
Con: Tastes more like a corn muffin than an English muffin. Went well with my breakfast egg sandwich, but did not taste well with my Laughing Cow wedges the way I use to frequently eat English Muffins. And again price. These muffins were $6 for 6 at WF.

Udi's GF Whole Grain Bagels Review
Pro: These definitely are very bread like. The weight and texture is similar to a regular old bagel. The main grains are brown and tapioca startch.
Con: These bagel dry out really quickly! I took them on a backpacking trip and quickly learned I had to keep one side of the bagel in the bag while I ate the other half or it would dry out. I have not tried these bagels toasted yet - maybe that would keep them for drying out so quickly. All I know is I tried to give my other half to a stray dog and even he turned his nose up to the only food being offered.
Overall: I definitely think I will try this product again but next time it will be toasted.

French Meadow GF Sandwich Bread - New
Pro: This bread is light, soft, and tasty just like a normal sandwich bread. It made a perfect grilled cheese sandwich!
Con: The slices, like most GF breads, are smaller than those gianormous pieces of whole wheat bread, but I actually prefer smaller loafs of bread.
Overall: I like it! These is definitely my GF bread of choice. and what makes it even better is that I found it at my local Vons (aka Safeway) right around the corner!

Food for Life GF English Muffins Review - New
Pro: These were great! They were chewy and had great texture like a normal english muffin.
Con: None that I can think of
Overall: Definitely will be keeping these in my freezer. I found these at a store on the other side of town but hopefully I can find some at a store near me.

Schar GF Sandwich Bread
Pro: This is definitely the Wonder bread of the GF world. I like how light and fluffy it is and that is doesn't need to be toasted. It was great to take camping.

Crackers

Glutino GF Vegetable Crackers
Pro: In the GF cracker world, these have been the most cracker like of crackers I have tried. I enjoy that they are probably highly processed (like many gluten crackers) and not really "grainy" like many other GF crackers. They doen't taste like flax seed or rice like so many others do, even though rice is the second ingredient. Corn starch is the first.
Con: None. Hands down my favorite GF cracker yet.

Glutino GF Cheddar Crackers
Pro: Like their veggie brother, Glutino again aces with their Cheddar crackers. Great texture, great taste.
Con: I was hoping they would be more cheesy - like a GF Chez-it. They have a great texture and tast but only the faintest hint of cheese in the after taste.

Mary's Gone Crackers Herb flavor Review
Pro: These cracker are very crunchy with lots of texture. I like the herb flavor with the flax, brown rice, and seaseme flavors. These can not be compared to any gluten filled crackers as they are unique in they're taste and texture. Full of lots of whole grains.
Con: Not typically what you expect when you think of crackers but overall I enjoy them.

Trader Joes Onion and Chive Corn Crackers Review
Pro: They taste good.
Con: They taste good - but just like tortilla chips, in a smaller bag, placed in a box, and in the cracker aisle. I love TJ! One of my favorite places to shop, but I was hoping for something a little more "cracker" like and less like a Frito. While I highly enjoy tortilla chips, if that was what I was looking to purchase, I could get a whole HUGE bag of tortilla chips from the chip ailse for the same price I paid for this tiny box. I still love ya TJ. Hopefully you will stock some new GF cracker products soon!

Jovan's Whole Food Garden Pesto Cracker Review
Pro: They sounded good...??
Con: I've have spent a lot of my own money with expensive GF price tags trying out different GF products. Some have been good, some okay, but this was the first to get a thumbs down. They are soft like a stale cracker. The taste is, ummm, I don't even know how to describe it. Not good. This may be the first product I actually take back to WF ever and say I WANT MY $6 BACK!!!

Natural Nectar Sun-dried Tomato & Oregano Cracklebred Review
Coming Soon

Crunchmaster Multi-seed Crackers Review
Pro: For GF crackers, these were some of the best priced around $2 at Fresh n' Easy. Definitely hold up to their crunchy name.
Con: I did not like the taste. Rice and seasame seed are the first two ingredient and I just didn't enjoy the flavor combo.

Pasta and Noodles

Trader Joe's Brown Rice Rotini Review
Pro: I've fed this pasta to friends and family and they've all said the same thing - that they would not have know this was brown rice and not whole wheat unless I had told them. Bonus - TJ's sells a big bag for only $2, WF's sells in smaller package at almost twice the cost.
Con: If kept overnight without sauce or oil it will stick/clump together which is typical of rice.

De Bole's Brown Rice Rotini Review
Pro: I like this pasta. For some reason pasta seems to be an easy GF thing to imitate.
Con: This had more a a ricey flavor then the TJ version but covered in sauce you barely notice. It also cost more for a smaller package compared to the TJ version.

Shirataki Noodles Review
I have had both the House Foods and Pasta Slim version. Both are similar and great in tastes. Find them in your grocery store in the tofu section.
Pro: These are probably some of my favorite noodles! They taste great, the textures great, their low calorie, and super filling. An 8oz package of Shirataki noodles only has 40 calories, 1g fat, 6g carb, and 2g protein!
Con: Noodles tend to be a little more "slimy" and they don't "soak" up sauce quite like a typical grain pasta. Some people complain of a fishy odor - I've never noticed. They do have to be refrigerated and have a shorter shelf life than dry pasta, typically 6 months.

Sea Tangle Kelp Noodles
Pro: Again, these are a LOVE! They have practically no calories and are packed minerals such as calcium. They are thin noodles and smooth but have a nice crisp to the bite. They are great to use in Asian style dishes or Pad Thai.

Bars and such

KIND Bars Review
I was going to review each of the KIND Bars I have tried, but then just decided to go with Pro: they're good! Simple and pure ingredients with a good company mission. My favorite is Almond & Coconut! Second is Peanut Butter & Strawberry which taste like a PB&J sandwich. Although I haven't tried them all, each one has held up to it's name and has been delicious so far.
Con: I have a mild allergy to walnuts, pecans, and most of those other nuts you find around Christmas time. Not like a my-airway-is-closing-up-and-I'm-gonna-die allergy, but more of the these-really-irritate-my-mouth kinda allergy. So many of the products just labeled "nuts" I avoid. I'm also not a huge fan of rice crisps.

Bobo's Coconut Oat Bar
Pro: SO GOOD! Very filling, moist and flavorful! I could eat theses for breakfast. I could eat these as a desert. They're great! GF and Vegan.
Con: The price is slightly higher than other bar but worth it.
Overall: I wish these were more readily available - hopefully in the future they will be! Right now I can only find these at WF.

LARABAR Review
Pro: Simple ingredient list. No chemicals or weird things you can't pronounce.
Con: I'm just not 100% into LARABARs like the rest of the blog world. I've tried a couple flavors and they're good, but I don't love them. They're kinds of more like something I have to be craving. Even if they say they're peanut butter or chocolate or cherry or whatever, they all taste like fig so it's something I have to be in the mood for.

Treats & Sweets

French Meadow GF Fudge Brownies - New
Pro: It was moist, it was fudgy, it was delicious. The ones I purchased were individually wrapped so you could buy a single brownie or as many as you would like.
Con: Each brownie, which is still a decent size, was $1.99.
Overall: Definitely pick one or two of these guys up when I go to the store. They are a little pricy, but I kind of see that portion control. This way I am never tempted to eat the "whole package" or play the "just one more bite" game.
